An idea from a parent to let her child do messy activities at home: she uses a plastic table cloth to cover the table. I incorporated our three rules: we take care of our furniture when we use a table cloth, we take care of our clothes when we wear clothes we can get messy in and we take care of others when we wash our hands after doing our activity.
